People are different. At GOALS we strongly believe that our employees should have the freedom to decide when and where to work. Therefor GOALS is a remote first company.
See it for yourself by watching Alex Kibble-White, Gameplay Programmer at GOALS, talk about how he works remote from his home office in Norfolk, United Kingdom.
Below the video you can read more about our remote first policy.
To make remote work successful, it's important that our remote employees feel included as much as people in the office. We are committed to ensuring that remote employees have the same opportunities for growth and development, and that their contributions are recognized and valued.
We recognize that social connections and a sense of community are important for all employees. We will actively seek out ways to bring remote and office-based employees together, whether through regular video calls, team-building events, or other initiatives, so that our team can connect and build relationships.
At time to time we think it's important to meet face to face. We do this at least two times a year at our hackathons, when the whole company gather in Stockholm to work, collaborate and have fun.
Audio and video quality is essential for effective remote work, and we will make sure that our tools and technology are up to date and reliable. We use Discord as communications platform, where we talk about everything, from dev challenges to the best new music releases.
Since GOALS is all about collaboration we think it's important that employees are reachable and have the possibility to attend meetings during day time. Therefor we have the limitation that our employees have to live within Europe.
